Half Roofs Up!! Looks Insane!

Thursday 21 October 2010 - -

The treeswingers were going to meet at the wilder. Benniboy got some 150mm nails and Nh was bringing some wardrobe timber. Upon Benniboy's arrival, Nh proudly said "the roof has arrived". To Benniboy's surprise, there were 2 big wardrobe pieces and 4 mdf pieces. We quickly took the timber into the wilderness and to the treehouse. We put it up top and went back for one more peice and the tools.

We entered the wildeness and different way to avoid confronting the postman, but in this move we walked straight past a dog walker, Nh carrying a big piece of timber and Benniboy a saw in a kite bag. We arrived at the treehouse and took the supplies up.

Benniboy ascended to level 2. Nh passed up a square piece. This was perfect to finish off the corner. With a little hammering it was a snug fit. We put some blocks under parts to level it, them hammered it down with 65's. Next we tried one of the big wardrobe pieces, it fit nicely next to the square. We used a crate block to level it. Then we used the other wardrobe on the opposite side and hammered a block in with the new 150's.

We then had to cut an mdf piece so it could fit in the middle. It cut quickly and Benniboy had to hammer it a bit to get it on, but then it was nice and snug, with no gaps. We then cut another piece to fill in a plank shaped gap.

During the last roof construction, we heard some loud voices. They were coming from wembley and towards the treehouse. Nh identified them as year 13 sixth formers. It was lunch time and we don't usually meet this early. They came over to the treehouse, as though they were going to climb it and then one said "Fuck". Then they continued on towards the treeswing/deep area. Have they climbed it before? Did they go to the treeswings instead? Are they potential treeswingers?

We completed the roof and put all the timber on level 2. It was 1.30pm and Benniboy had to get to uni for 2pm. We left happy that half the roof was now complete.

The treeswingers parted ways. Benniboy went past the girls school and through the country road. While driving through the country roads, he saw some building work and a skip. There was a barbed wire fence around the skip and resting on the outside of the fence were a few crates. Theses would be easy to retrieve as they are far from the house. We are planning to get these tomorrow.
