Good Days Treehouse Work

Saturday 6 November 2010 - -

Nh was doing extra hours today and finished around 5.30pm. We met at the car park behind the Wreck at about 6.35pm. We walked through the uninhabited park and to the target house. On the way there was a car on the street with some muggles, so we walked past the house and up another street. We walked to Nh's old school and then turned around. The car was gone, we knocked on the target house door. There were no lights on, no one answered.

Nh was determined to retrieve the crate. So he grabbed it, then a car came, he quickly put it down, the car went down another street. So Nh got it and we carried it using the new technique. We walked across a road, right in front of a car coming up to the junction. We got to the park and felt relieved. Near the end of the path, there was a guy in a fluorescent jacket with a bike and a woman. We walked past and they didn't say anything. We took it up into the disassembling area.

We just had 3 planks to remove off the back. The top one already had one end out. The planks came out amazingly easy, we had them all out in under a minute. We then smacked the 3 thick planks off, took a little more effort, but these were strong thick planks. We packed them up in 2 flag batches. This must have been a record crate dismantle, was completed in under 5 minutes.

We placed the 2 batched in the back of the fiesta. Benniboy needed petrol so we went to the BP garage. On the way to the wilder, we went past all the people going to the fireworks display. We arrived at the wilder and parked in the usually place. We took the batches in to the wilder and up the treehouse. We are becoming very good at every operation, wasting no time, and completing everything to a professional level.

It was cold and misty, but the treehouse walls kept in some heat and as we were constantly working we forgot about the cold conditions. Nh sawed some pretruding planks, while Benniboy brought the last batch up. We removed 3 planks from the south wall. Then we started sawing the fresh planks and hammering them to the south wall. We got them above head level and to the same level as the ones next to it. We sawed off some branches that were in the way of planks on the steps. Nh sawed one off and it made a loud noise as it hit the ground.

The planks were long and the bits that were cut off would fit on north wall corner. We had 3 structure planks from the crate, placed them on level 2 for next time. We had used all the planks and called it a day, a good days work.
