South Roof Structure
Saturday, 22 January 2011 - -
The treeswingers planned to complete the rest of the new roof structure. Benniboy got some 100's from toolstation. We went up the treehouse while it was still light, around 4.10pm. We analysed the south roof area. Nh cam up with a good triangle formation idea.
We would make a 3 piece structure beam and them have 2 structures perpendicular to it and attaching to the ends of the outer 2 pieces. We sawed a structure in half and added the 2 pieces to the ends of anothjer structure plank. We hammered this big beam in, it went across the south area, just infornt of the hatch.
While hammering it in we heard some kind of vehicle on the golf course, skidding and revving. It sounded like builders. It was dark by now.
We got 2 more structures from level 2. We cut one to fit from the 3 piece structure to the south west trunk. Then hammered it in. We did the same for the south west side. Benniboy sat on the 2 beams we had just put in, they seemed pretty sturdy.
We had a nice south roof structure in place now, it was about 6pm. There is just a gap between the south and north, which we will complete tomorrow.
