Operation: Steal Board from Skip

Tuesday 5 October 2010 - -

Today was the day, when the treeswingboys would undertake a stealthy challenge. As the grumpy old man didn't want to co-operate with us, we were forced to steal the boards from him.

Firstly, we went the cinema. We saw The Hole 3D. We both rated it 7/10. According to the youtube comments it was really scary and should have been a 15 instead of a 12a. But, after watching it, we concurred that it wasn't that scary and was rated correctly at a 12a. It was a nice film, just too predictable and had potential to be more scary. It had comical moments such at the clown walking like he had something shoved up his backside and the hammering of nails with a claw. The 3D was okay, good bits were when the boy threw a ball up and it came out nicely, and when nails (lol) were thrown down the hole.

Then we deployed to the skip. We arrived about 10pm, there weren't many cars, but some late night dog walkers in the vicinity. We checked the skip, it had more timber placed on top of the boards. This floored our plan, it would be near impossible to retrieve the boards, without disturbing the grumpy old man. We drove past a few times, then parked a little down the street. We went on foot to inspect it closer. Some of the downstairs lights were on and the red alfa was parked outside. The driveway had a load off lights in it shining up and illuminating the skip.

We checked the other nearby skip, there was a good crate on top. We were planning to take this, so we moved the car, for when we came back. We then saw some boards in the skip at the bottom of the hill. We parked down a little road. Then Benniboy tried to pull one out, it hardly moved. Then we went down to the bottom, we turned around to try again. This time with a little more effort and noise Benniboy got the board out. Nh looked out for when it was safe to cross the road. We quickly ran across and into batchwood. Then we went and got another board. the boards were nice and strong, definitely wouldn't break.

We continued to carry the boards across the golf course. Nh wore his new flashlight around his head, it was very good and bright. We came to the big slope and entered the wilderness, this light lit up a path for us. We quickly found the treehouse and it was completely lit up by the flashlight. Benniboy ascended the boards and placed them on level 1. We then headed back. We made it back to the Miata with no confrontations, it couldn't have gone better. Only thing that could have been better, if we got the third board and a crate, but this would have been greedy and could have made us get caught, we know our limits.
