Nh & Benniboy agreed to meet at 12.30. We quickly scouted the wilderness and checked on the treeswing/sapling to check all was in order. Afterwards we went to the recycling centre to get a boot full of boards and planks. On route we picked up the new papa johns Buffalo Pizza and a papa's favourite.

We then went to get a final diagonal structure plank which would be the final structure plank needed for the balcony. We also deposited most of the planks we had got from the recycling centre. We got our shock when we saw a hole which had previously been hidden by a wooden structure and Nh spotted something red inside and investigated.

Nh and Benniboy returned to the wilderness for the start of the 2013 wilderness season, only to be in for a huge shock.

Today the treeswingboys finally did it. The extreme treeswing is up.

Benniboy managed to push the blue rope into a better position. Then climb down and tie a knot to ascend the treeswing. We pulled the rope tight to seal the knot at the very top.

It was time to test it - Benniboy had the honour of the first swing. It was crazy! He hardly pushed off and it was already going out really far.

Ali g and Nh tested it - we all thought it was insane.

Some little treeswingers came and they tried it, they looked so small compared to the ultimate treeswing.

We tried pulling the treeswinger up and then pushing them as high as we can. This treeswing easily went above the branches. It swung back over our heads and almost hit the trees behind. You can feel the wind as your plummet down towards the ditch.

We then went to wembley. We improved the barriers.

Today the treeswingboys decided to do some wilder studies instead of the usual tournament. We went back to the treeswings area. We were going to finally get the ultimate treeswing up.

Benniboy climbed up with the harness. We managed to get the climbing rope over the treeswing branch. After a little psyching up Benniboy ascended to the highest he had ever been on this tree. Just below the treeswing branch, he could touch it.

We tried throwing the tennis ball and string over, but it wasn't working. So we got the blue rope up and put a stick on it. We kept of getting junior treeswingers coming and admiring out work. They mentioned they had made a zip line.

We eventually got the rope over in a good position. But now it wouldn't come down. Benniboy used a stick to get it to come down. But the rope move out of position. He came down.

We went and found the zip line. It was very good for junior treeswingers, they had a little hut too. We tested the zip line out, it worked well, must work really well for kids.

We went to wembley and hammered up the cross bar. One side wouldn't let the nail through, so we tied it for now. The bar was a little low, but it was one stick for once.

We went back to the treeswing and tied up the blue rope. We then deployed.

The treeswingboys have been working on the treeswing but haven't been progressing very well. A few more branches have been trimmed. We got the volleyball stuck for good this time, after a few days of wind and shaking from us it still hasn't fallen from the grasp of the twig like branch.

We have also been spending some recreational time searching for geocaches. This outdoors sport has proven to be a nice supplement to the wilder studies work. With the added use of the geocache phone app, it has been a breeze finding new caches whenever we choose. There have been some bugs and inaccurate readings from the app, but compared the previous method we used this is much better.

On Tuesday we looked up a local cache. Upon arrival at the location we realised it was not a large container but smaller than a micro cache, it was so small it was off the scale. It was hidden on a bicycle sign in a bridleway. We took a little while to find it, but eventually succeeded.

It was really small, it could barely fit a log in it. We went to a local Tesco and bought some chewing gum. We then managed to put a whole chewed gum in place of the log. It screwed closed tightly squishing the gum inside. That was it for the day's caches.


We aimed to see "Warhorse" on Wednesday. We were just going to the ticket till and then realised we hadn't got the orange Wednesday code. The orange app wouldn't work and we weren't going to pay full price for the tickets. We also didn't want to waste the journey. We decided to look up a local cache.

To our surprise there was one in the cinema car park. We couldn't get a good location tracked to it, so we went to another nearby cache. This cache was in a car park, it was supposed to be a big container and possess a geobug.

We parked in the car park in the exact same parking space as the car that was on the gps map. We then set out to find the cache. We looked 3 times and couldn't find it. It was about 10pm and there were still a few cars in the car park. Some muggles came back to their cars. Then some treeswingers drove in and looked like they were smoking a spliff.

We were about to leave, however the treeswingers started to deploy. We waited till they left then had another look. We took into account that a comment had said the location was out by 18 ft and the hint said "be quick so you don't have to pay and display". We were parked right in front of a pay and display sign. Turns out the cache was directly behind the sign in a bush.

It was a big container, with barely anything in it. It had the geobug/tag it in and the logbook. We added about 50 chargers, 3/4 bottle vinegar and half a pot of salsa. It was a nasty concoction. It was heavy and smelly.
