The tide turns

Thursday 24 March 2011 - -

After yesterdays successful progress to the Treehouse, we were both determined to continue the good fight of taking back the Treehouse. With the frame for the hatch to sit on already constructed, we now needed a board. We were originally going to buy one but decided to save our money and take one from the sapling frame. We met around 6:30 and Benniboy had bought a strong Steel lock and some light hinges. We collected the board from the Sapling and then carried it over to the Treehouse. Nh climbed up first and Benniboy carried up the board with him. Afterwards we marked out how large we wanted it and began to cut it. It was very strong and thick, so it took considerably longer to cut and had to take it in turns and take many breaks. A dog walked on the path walked past with a torch and probably heard us, but didn't come too close. Once we'd finally cut the board, it was pitch black and we couldn't do too much else. So we decided to call it a day and will continue the hatch tomorrow.

It's evident that the tide of this war is turning back in the favour of the Treeswingers but the real question is, will the Treeswingers and the Treehouse be ready for a pending attack, most likely forecast for Saturday or Sunday evening? The future of the treehouse could come down to this weekend and if it can withstand another onslaught then we may have secured the long term sustainablity of the treehouse for the foreseeable future.

It's likely that we'll have 1 more wilderness session before the enermy assults the Treehouse again, and if they see we're planning a hatch, the outcome might not be pretty. Can Nh and Benniboy defeat the enermy Treeswingboys?
