A much bigger CRACK!!

Sunday 11 December 2011 - -

Today is the deadline for getting the treeswing branch down. We met at the usual time in the car park. Nh had brought a fart bomb. This was different to a stink bomb as it was a packet that you squeeze, it then expands and pops open.

We walked across the field and then Nh activated the fart bomb. It took around 30 seconds for it to pop. It was a loud bang like a small firework. We then smelt a potent eggy odor.

We continued to the treeswing. We shone the torch on the swing and it looked really low. We initially thought a treeswinger must had further lowered the rope. We then looked up at the branch, there was a huge crack. Half of the branch had snap off.

We thought that someone must have swung on the treeswing between now and yesterday. We imagined the victim was a fat kid, who must have pooped his pants when the whole branch and treeswing suddenly cracked and dropped a foot. Although it could have fallen down naturally, as it has been windy recently. Or someone pulled on it intentionally. It's just lucky the whole branch didn't fall down and injure anyone.

We tugged on the treeswing and it creaked a little. We threw the climbing rope over the branch nearer the end for more leverage. It cracked a bit more and we could see the treeswing was now on the floor.

Sirens of either police or ambulances kept on going off and it was windy so things would move, we were cautious and kept a look out.

We realised that the branch was being support by a "Y" shaped tree at the end. We got the rope over this tree and snapped most of it off. The treeswing branch was still stuck in it. We tried pulling it down one more time. Nh thought it would be best to leave it for now. We would check on it in a week and change our parking position.

Hopefully it won't fall on anyone. We chucked the treeswing back up, so no treeswingers would swing on it or try to pull it down.
