The 1st Crack!

Saturday 10 December 2011 - -

The treeswingboys are working overtime to get the treeswing branch down by the deadline. We went on friday, today (Saturday) and will be going tomorrow.

Yesterday we managed to get the treeswing back down. Benniboy had to climb up a close tree and throw the treeswing over the branch it was stuck it, but then he got it stuck in another branch. We managed to get the climbing rope over the treeswing rope and eventually pulled it down.

We were going to use the rope to pull on the branch and weaken it. Benniboy tugged on the treeswing and said that the rope would probably snap instead of the branch. Suddenly he fell back onto the ground, pulling the treeswing stick with him. Luckily the rope hadn't snapped, there was just a knot that was made to convert it into a handle treewing. Now it was a seat treeswing.

Both treeswingboys had a daring swing on the treeswing, knowing that the branch could snap at any minute. Although the branch did still seem completely rigid.

Today we continued the sawing. We did a bit, then went for a break. We were about to walk into the Co Op, when we saw Mr.T in it. We decided to go into the shop next to it. But there was a very good selection. We went in the Co Op and Mr.T had gone.

We went back into the wilder and continued the saing. Benniboy managed to pull himself up a but higher to get a better angke for sawing the far side. He gave it a quick power saw and then "Crack!". It was a loud, solid crack in the branch. Nh shone the torch on the cut and he noticed it was a lot more obvious now.

Benniboy left it there and came back down. We tugged on the treeswing rope and there was a little but of a crack. The branch was still strong, but was definitely starting to give way.

Tomorrow we will persevere..
