Treeswing progress - Muggling

Monday 23 January 2012 - -

Benniboy had thought of an ingenious idea for getting the treeswing rope up easily and quickly. We went to the treeswing area. Benniboy had some light, thin rope and his throwing mini rugby ball. He tied the light rope to the ball and then threw it over the treeswing branch on his third try. We then attached the blue rope to the light rope and pulled it over the branch. Done.

Only problem was that it was too far right and not in the centre. It was too high to shuffle it across. We decided to throw the light rope up again but this time in the centre. Benniboy had many attempts but the rope kept on getting caught in the many small branches in the way.

Every time it got stuck we used the opportunity to snap the annoying branches. We must have taken down four branches that were in the way. There were still some high branches left. Benniboy couldn't get the ball back over, his arm was now tired. We retired and went to check on the local cache.

There had been a few clans of muggles during our treeswing studies, some going very close to the cache location. We checked the cache, you could smell the pong of garlic polluting the surrounding location. Nh opened it and it reeked. Nh had some stink bombs. We placed one inside the container and cracked it, then sealed it back up - containing the horrid smell.

We put it back, after some hiding from the many muggles that day. We then deployed back to the car.

We found a nearby cache on the phone app. It took us past the bridge with the big bump, that the vectra had previously jump over at 80mph or so. We went over it in the miata around 60mph. We then parked up, then realised we would have to walk across a forbidden farmers field. We re parked and then walked around 1.5km to the cache. We had to walk across 2 field and one wilderness.

In the wilderness there were quite a few huts:

When we finally got to the cache location it was getting dark and we thought there could be no muggles about now. But to our surprise there were still many muggles scouting the area. We managed to get the cache and look inside.

It was a quality cache, had the usual stuff inside. We spent a good 10 minutes trying to find a place where there were no muggles. Then we unleashed the spaghetti and vinegar. We took it back to the location, then at the last minute added a stink bomb to the camouflage bag it was in.

We deployed back on the long walk to the car. We went back to the wilderness and then cracked open 10 chargers.
