A Slap of Paint - Interior Work is Started on the Treehouse!

Sunday 17 October 2010 - -

Two treesingboys woke up to a bright sunny day. They both had the same idea - time to paint the treehouse. They met at 12.40pm and headed to Wilko's. We went straight to the paints, we found a 5 litre tub of Wilko's FenceCare in Dark Oak. It was £6.68, very good value, all of the others were like £20, there was another fence paint for £9.98, but didn't look any better. We bought it with no problems and no sight of our foe - Ruhel.

Nh got a pepperoni pizza sub. We then went back to the Miata, which was parked in a free space, that's a saving of £1.10, which can be used on wilder resources instead. We put the tub in the boot, upon arrival we discovered it had moved to the other sode of the boot and was tipped over, this worried Benniboy.

We had parked near the bottom, this was a much better place, right next to an entrance and was then quick to get to the treehouse. Also the muggles in the houses, haven't seen us park here much, so safer. We took some pictures of the treehouse, for the before pics. We opened the tub to find a lovely looking dark oak.

We had our paint brushes from the pound shop. Benniboy ascended to level 2, while Nh started to paint the inside of level 1. Benniboy put his harness on and tied the pink rope around some high branches. He then tied himself to the rope and descended behind the left wall. He hammered in the 4 planks we had left. Then we added 2 more that we had found at the base.

Nh passed the lid with some paint on it and a paint brush to Benniboy. We then both got to work. Painting for most is a tedious job, but for us treeswingers it was a joy, we were improving the treehouse immensely. During our painting, a few muggles walked past. Some came from the deep and walked straight past Benniboy, who was hanging by the harness and painting. They didn't seem to see us thought. Then a dog walker went past on the usual path. Benniboy completed the 2 walls. Then while he was up on level 2 and Nh painting on level 1, a muggle family came from the deep, they saw us and said "hi". Nh said "hi" and Benniboy waved, these are the best type of muggles, friendly and don't ask annoying questions.

Then another muggle son and father came, while Benniboy was painting the right wall on the outside. The father saw him and had a bewildered expression on his face, as to how Benniboy was levitating outside the treehouse.

Plank of Approval

Benniboy had to get back for 4.30pm, to look after William Watson. So we left it there, we had painted pretty much all we could for the day, as the some walls were wet and we couldn't paint anymore without getting paint on ourselves. Although we both got paint on our clothes and hands. Nh had a bad bit on his back. We wiped the floor with a flag and left the dirty paintbrushes on level 1. We took some after pictures and then exited the wilder.

While driving back though the parallel street, we saw lots of skips. One with 4 big boards, another had crate like bed wood. Then another had a sofa and some timber. We checked the new house skip and it was overflowing even more. We then deployed home.
