Roof's Almost Complete

Wednesday 27 October 2010 - -

The treeswingers met around 11.50am today, Nh had just cut up some fresh mdf. Some treeswingers, that were doing some kind of survey work, came down the path, so we sat in the car till they left. We took the timber into the wilderness and ascended it up the treehouse. We used the smooth mdf pieces to add some more protection to the lower wall parts.

We then added the big wardrobe piece to level 2. It fitted nicely on the east side, the north side is pretty much complete, just a couple of small gaps. We then added a big piece of mdf to the south end, where the bathroom will be located.

We went for lunch, and checked the hill with the skips, there was a nice crate in the skip on the road, the new house still had the same overflowing skip. We then went to subway for lunch, got the sub of the day and 3 cookies each. Deployed back to the wilder, ate the subs in the Fiesta. We went back in and Benniboy went to the toilet and remembered that Nh had previously found a thick plank, where the amateur stick tent thing was. He then discovered another stick tent, right next to the destroyed one. The creators are definitely persistent.

We put up some more triangle formation structure on level 2, using thick planks from crates. We brought up the triangle shaped long plank. We then used it to reinforce the other structures. Added another mdf next to the one in the bathroom.

We were struggling with some of the thick planks, kept on bending then nails, so we used 150's which still bent slightly, but worked. Used 2 flags to hold the big plank in. We did all we could, spent about 3 hours working.

Some junior treeswingers came, just as we were finishing. They were making a lot of noise around the treeswing area, so we went and checked. No new treeswings, just the triangle one and the old one. We went to the sapling and removed Nh's initials form the tree. We then deployed home.
